Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!

Restaurant Review: Baketopia (Carnaby Street, London) on Friday 11th October 2013

In celebration of  National Baking Week, the infamous Miss Cakehead has curating a team of the UK’s finest food artists to create a 100% edible pop-up—in the form of a magical meadow—in London’s Kingly Court, just off
Carnaby Street.

It featured over 3000 portions of edible baked goods (in exchange for a two pound donation to Great Ormond Street hospital).

Made by The Tattooed Bakers, Nevie Pie Cakes, Caking It and Conjurer’s Kitchen supported by John Whaite, National Baking Week’s ambassador and the winner of the 2012 Great British Bake Off.
The centrepiece of the tasty tableau will be a giant unicorn, created by the Tattooed Bakers, made from rainbow cake and complete with edible gold leaf embossed hooves and horn.

The options which were Gluten Free were the Meringue Wigwam (although I am not eating eggs!) and some of the Pastry Pies (but I didn’t take a chance!)
