At Honest Burger in Camden (http://honestburgers.co.uk/ ) which is situated just off the main road, by the famous bridge by the market on Camden Lock Place. There is a small hanging sign but once you find it, the simple décor will reassure you that it’s clean, tidy but basic. The food is the star here. The menu is chalked up on a large wall and basically it’s burgers: free range chicken, dry aged beef or a vegetarian special with the regular sides of fries, salad and /or coleslaw.
I enjoyed the Honest Burger: “Beef, Red Onion Relish, Smoked Bacon, Mature Cheddar, Pickle Cucumber and Lettuce.” I paid the additional £1 for a GLUTEN FREE bun and it was worth it. A really tasty roll which held together despite the generous proportioned burger. The bacon was extremely thick cut so was a delight with salty deliciousness and the cheddar cheese was well flavoured, alongside a good portion of chips. These were traditional chips, soft with crunchy edges and melt-in-your-mouth taste. Very hard to stop eating the chips!
They also host a Special Burger for a limited time and shortly (from 3rd march 2014) they will be selling a burger which requires ID as it contains so a fair amount of alcohol! (“The limited edition BrewBurger, dreamed up by BrewDog co-founder James Watt and Honest Burgers co-founder Tom Barton, is a 150g aged beef patty with Comté cheese and bacon glazed with BrewDog’s iconic amber ale, 5AM Saint. The BrewBurger is topped with beef dripping and beer fried onions using BrewDog’s flagship Punk IPA and a BBQ reduction made from BrewDog’s Paradox cask-aged Imperial Stout.” Unfortunately this isn’t GLUTEN FREE! http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/brewdog-and-honest-burgers-launch-the-brewburger
