Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!
Made by “Premium Snack Company” and received as part of the “Saviour Snack Box” March parcel And “one of your five a day”. This was one of the most delightful “snack” I have had in recent weeks. It was a strange little bag (20 grams) with freeze-dried vegetables, that’s all it is. It is brightly packaged in a orange bag and it is “nothing but” freeze-dried vegetables and as per the labels, it has “No added fat, no added salt, no added sugar, no added preservatives and never fried“. http://www.nothingbutsnack.com/news
And how do they taste? Actually, they taste like the vegetables they are, although a little dry like a biscuit with some crunch, in the mouth with some salvia, they soften up and taste super. The peas taste really sweet and fresh with lots of flavour and the sweetcorn tastes even sweeter than warm regular sweetcorn! Probably because they are vegetables and a healthy snack, they are very filling, tasty and GLUTEN FREE!
As a new company with three key products: Sliced Beetroot & Parsnip Snack, Mange Tout & Red Pepper Snack alongside the Peas & Sweetcorn, they are focussed upon building brand awareness and attending large trade shows (such as the Farm Shop & Deli Show at NEC in Birmingham in March 2014). I hope they get more sellers interested as I could see this doing really well if availability was increased and improved. Certainly they should think about an online shop as a minimum.
Saviour Snacks send out a mystery box of goodies on a regular basis. I have opted for the fortnightly Gluten Free box at £15 with ten full size snacks included which means I get to try different foods which are not necessarily widely available at the moment. They also have an unrestricted box (Ultimate Box), Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options. Each box comes with a detailed listing which outlines the allergy information for individual products. http://www.savioursnacks.com/
