Product Review: (Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Dairy Free & Nut Free) Carob & Coconut Kale Crisps by Happy Kale

Happy kale crisps

So this is an alternative to potato crisps and healthier (as its made from Kale). As stated on the packaging, this is “Wheat Free, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Nut Free” in a bag of 25 grams. Unlike making kale crisps at home (with little individual pieces of kale, these crisps are bite sized crunchy kale gatherings with a distinctive flavour (carob and coconut). I’m not that keen on Kale nor coconut and so this was an interesting snack which filled a hole but leaves a savoury after-taste which tastes of cabbage! I know they are also available in a BBQ flavour which I think would suit my palate better!

They are described a “A truly healthy, handmade snack made from nothing but natural ingredients. We take raw kale, add some tasty superfoods and then gently air-dry everything to bring you these delicious snacks. With no colourings, flavourings or nasty things you wouldn’t add yourself“.

Saviour Snacks send out a mystery box of goodies on a regular basis. I have opted for the fortnightly Gluten Free box at £15 with ten full size snacks included which means I get to try different foods which are not necessarily widely available at the moment. They also have an unrestricted box (Ultimate Box), Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options.  Each box comes with a detailed listing which outlines the allergy information for individual products.
