Product Review: (Gluten Free & Soya Free) Dark Chocolate: Orange & Geranium Bar by “Montezuma’s”

Chocolate

A small but snack-sized chocolate bar made by Montezuma’s. The silky smooth chocolate is GLUTEN FREE and SOYA FREE but it is noted that they are “Made in a factory where nuts and dairy are used regularly“. A strange but enticing flavour mixing the sweetness of citrus (orange) with the flowery tones of Geranium, sitting alongside the natural bitterness of dark chocolate. A really interesting mbination which is tasty and refreshing. Sometimes, I have found citrus in chocolate to be really quite overwhelming but this was a delightful treat. According to the founder of Montezuma’s, Helen Pattinson, she says; “Successfully blending and balancing both a citrus and a floral flavour into our powerful organic dark chocolate was a challenge, but if you try only one bar from our range, I would recommend this best selling little number. The fabulous richness of the organic cocoa works so well with these mouthwatering flavours that I always have one in my bag to tempt people!” -Helen Pattinson, Co-founder. And I would agree as a special treat.

Saviour Snacks send out a mystery box of goodies on a regular basis. I have opted for the fortnightly Gluten Free box at £15 with ten full size snacks included which means I get to try different foods which are not necessarily widely available at the moment. They also have an unrestricted box (Ultimate Box), Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options.  Each box comes with a detailed listing which outlines the allergy information for individual products. http://www.savioursnacks.com/

Funny that the label says “vegan” and then warns it may contain dairy… lol Oh the world of food allergies! Thanks for posting.
