Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!
The RHS do provide useful information on the eateries and their offerings but limited information about allergies. So apart from taking your own food (which I always do), what are the options?
In the “Grow your Own” Marquee, they have several suppliers offering samples as well as selling their products and it was great to see Mrs Crimbles. You can try their chocolate brownie, chocolate rice cakes and crackers at the show and they have special offers for some of their products (which I have taken advantage of!).
If it’s hot and sunny, Gluten Free ice cream is on sale and I was happy to see that Purbeck offer GLUTEN FREE ice-cream which is delicious.
In several of the food villages, you could have a fresh portion of chips (if cross-contamination is not a serious issue for you) and whilst it was good to see a “healthy” meal truck offering hummus and falafels, it is shame they were selling these in brown wheat wraps not GF ones. And finally, in amongst the tea tents and eateries, they don’t do GF sandwiches but did have sushi for sale as well as some snacks which are GLUTEN FREE including BURTS crisps and I spotted PROPER Popcorn in the shops as well which I have reviewed on my blog before.
Was I disappointed with the GLUTEN FREE Selection? Well, I have the allergies and I am always prepared but small steps are welcomed so you can have a GLUTEN FREE flower show visit.
