Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!
Based in Brixton Village, in amongst the many eateries, cafes and restaurants, Ms Cupcake works to “create indulgent and decadent cakes for you regardless of what you can, and cannot eat“. They are proud to be London’s first entirely vegan bakery and have a small selection (which changes daily) of GLUTEN FREE Cupcakes, GLUTEN FREE Cake Bars and other GLUTEN FREE products (including GF Ice Cream, Bakery supplies GF crisps and other GF sundry items).
I popped in during the week and the GLUTEN FREE Options included a Chocolate Butterscotch Fudge Cupcake, Coconut Almond Cupcake and a Peanut Butter Snap Bar. And as regular followers will know, the mere mention of Chocolate had me licking my lips (as I love my Chocolate Bars, Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Tarts, Chocolate Desserts, Chocolate Biscuits, Chocolate Muffins, anything with Chocolate! )
The buttercream topping was lovely and creamy on top of the light and airy sponge. I ate it at the cafe with a relaxing cup of tea (as they don’t serve coffee), watching the world going by. (At £2.50 I think these were good value and the selection changes daily: depending on what has been prepared. Some people may object to the potential cross-contamination issue of Ms Cupcake as although they are held behind the glass counter and there is space between the different ones, the Gluten Free cupcakes do sit next to the regular Cup Cakes. Indeed, the GF ones are not next to each other so you have to review the whole selection).
A lovely Gluten Free Cupcake!
Other similar products reviewed on my blog include a Chocolate Cup Cake (served at a Dobbies Garden Centre), Pineapple Fondant Cake made by The Wheat Free Bakery and larger cakes for slicing include M&S Made without Wheat Victoria Sandwich and M&S Made without Wheat Lemon Sponge Sandwich.
