Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!
As a Coeliac who follows a GLUTEN FREE diet to manage my condition, I was keen to support Coeliac UK and their push to increase the diagnosis and awareness of my disease.
Did you know around 1% of the UK population has coeliac disease?
Did you know only 24% of those with the condition are medically diagnosed.
This means that half a million people in the UK are living with coeliac disease, undiagnosed so the Awareness Week hopes to put people who are suffering with the symptoms of coeliac disease on a pathway to diagnosis, so they can be properly supported to manage their condition and avoid long term health complications. They aim to halve the length of time to confirm a diagnosis, which is currently on average, 13 years, and reduce misdiagnosis of IBS by 50%. The long term goal is to confirm a diagnosis for an additional 250,000 people by 2020, so that these people are freed from not knowing what is causing their symptoms, pain and suffering.
I also feature on the promotional materials which are to be distributed to GP surgeries, Chemists and Pharmacies across the UK:
