Product Reviews, Restaurant Reviews and Recipes: All GLUTEN FREE!
Launched in 1936, Milkybar is one of the UK’s best love brands and the No.1. White Chocolate Brand without a doubt made by Nestle. The well known Milkybar kid first made an appearance in 1961, and celebrated his 50th birthday in 2011. There have been many Milkybar Kids over the past 49 years, the first of which was played by Terry Brooks with the most recent kid played by William Ray. The range is available in several different formats but due to the manufacturing process, not of them all are GLUTEN FREE. The Milkybar packs include Milkybar Buttons, Milkybar Kid Bar and Milkybar Giant Buttons Sharing Bag as well as seasonal products including Easter and Christmas range, including Milkybar boxed Eggs, Milkybar Mini Eggs, and Bluebell the cow chocolate hollow figure.
The following products have been confirmed by Nestle to be GLUTEN FREE:
Please note all Milkybar products contain MILK (which makes it hard to be enjoyed if, like me, you are LACTOSE INTOLERANT!)
Nestlé has announced that it is increasing the amount of milk in its Milkybar recipe, making it the product’s number one ingredient. The percentage of milk in the new core range recipe has increased from 26% to 37.5%, which allows Nestlé to reduce some sugar content in the product. The new recipe will remove almost 350 tonnes of sugar and 130 million calories from UK public consumption – which falls in line with Nestlé’s pledge to remove 10% of sugar from its UK and Irish markets by 2018. The new products will remain free from artificial flavours, colours, preservatives and sweeteners. The new packaging highlights the message ‘Milk is now our No.1 ingredient’, and it will feature across the full range of Milkybar products from May 2017.
Remember the regular Bars are NOT GLUTEN FREE: they are made with no gluten containing ingredients but have the dreaded “May contain” due to shared manufacturing lines:

But as I am learning, ingredients do change and therefore you should always read the label and check for yourself whether it is GLUTEN FREE or not!
