So another beautiful Canadian city with an amazing Parliament that clearly reminds me of the British Parliament in London. It’s definately a foodie city with lots of eateries and bars surrounding various markets and open piazzas. My GLUTEN FREE meals included….
Patty Boland’s Irish Pub & Eatery… Down on Clarence Street next to several other bars, this had a live Irish performing inside, so sitting on the outside veranda it was somewhere for a light meal and a great location for people watching. They had a GLUTEN FREE Menu with some different options. I went for a burger with a GLUTEN FREE Bun and the bun was rather hard and chewy but he generous portion of chips and burger filling made up for it. A quick and easy meal.
And also in Ottowa, Restaurant 18: Set back with a courtyard in the back of the bar, it was a lovely quiet venue with beautiful French-inspired foods. They talked me through the Menu as they could make many of the dishes GLUTEN FREE. So I had a warm salad (without crottons) with Mushrooms, pancetta, fresh spinach leaves, and fresh veggies. It was a lovely light salad which filled me up and of course, a great healthy dish. The service was slow (as we had the Parliament tour booked for the afternoon) but we managed to make it on time.
