A great GLUTEN FREE Lunch was provided by one of the branded restaurants down at Disney Springs. This whole site has been transformed from the old Pleasure Island with clubs and bars to trendy eateries, fashionable shops and cool places to hang-out. It has expanded in both directions and with much development still ongoing, it is always a new adventure to see what is new.
From various Blog sources, I knew they offered several Entrees which could be adapted to be GLUTEN FREE which was just what I needed. It was strange that they don’t have a separate GLUTEN FREE Menu but our waitress was very well informed and able to talk through the options. She suggested that all the salads and salad dressing could be made gluten free as were many of the Entrees.
I opted for the Half-roast Chicken with rosemary served with mashed potatoes (and garlic butter). Whilst this was a plentiful plate of food, without any vegetables and only a light and sparse garlic butter, after a while, it became dull as a lunch dish. We also noted that for a restaurant that didn’t look that busy, it took over 25 minutes to prepare and deliver our two main courses. Neither of them were especially complicated but the waitress was very apologetic recognising that the timings had been somewhat delayed.
So another day of glorious GLUTEN FREE foods at Disney Springs with no issues with my allergies or eating requirements!
