Enjoying “Made without Wheat” Sweet Treats from M&S: All Year Round…

I’m guessing they’ve sold really well and have become really popular, so popular that M&S has extended it’s “Made without Wheat” range with some Seasonal Treats which were introduced for Christmas 2017 and  larger versions are now available as part of this permanent offering:

M&S have always been pretty good to Coeliacs with their extensive literature on their website, listings of stores with GF Products  as well as lots of good quality products that are part of their  “Made without Wheat” range. Many I have reviewed including Sweet Treats: Festive Wrap/ Christmas Feast Sandwich,  Mini Hazelnut Praline CakesRhurbarb CrumbleBlackcurrant Ripple LoafExtremely Strawberry Triffle & New York Cheesecake,Victoria SandwichLemon Drizzle CakeMince PiesHot Fudge Pudding and Triple Chocolate Cookies) Savoury Items (Quiche LorraineChicken & Mushroom CrispBakes) and M&S Bread products (Soft White BapsSliced White BouleSoft Brown Baps and Fruit Loaf) and their sandwiches.  (M&S Products also appear in my Chocolate Bar listingChocolate Box listingEaster Egg listingMince Pie review and my 2015 Advent Calendar listing as well as the 2017 Advent Calendar listing and this year’s Valentines guide). so it is exciting when they launch a new product, and you find it!

So originally these were bite-sized treats with 16 in a pack, now they’re just four in a pack but a lot larger and just as yummy. The “Honeycomb” is the golden topping a thick chocolate crispy base which is rich and creamy. I wasn’t sure whether these would be too much in terms of the new size but they remain a great “treat” which is lovely, not too filling and deliciously sweet and chocolaty. Note: They contain MILK and state “Not suitable for NUT and PEANUT allergy suffers due to manufacturing methods“. They also clearly state “Suitable for Vegetarians

I’m not a fan of Caramel (as I find it a little too sickly) so don’t really have much of it, but for research purposes, I did try this new “treat” and can say it is well balanced with the short-bread like biscuit and the very thick layer of Chocolate on top. The biscuit base is a little crumbly (as you can see in the picture) but it is held together more with the chocolate layer. It is probably too large for me to enjoy as I was quite full after finishing just one, but I am sure they’re fans out there that will just eat the whole box in one sitting. I hope they re-introduce the smaller (16) bite-sized party packs soon. Note they contain MILK & SOYA and state “Not suitable for NUT and PEANUT allergy suffers due to manufacturing methods“. They also clearly state “Suitable for Vegetarians
